How Coast Trade Bookkeeping collects, uses and protects your personal information.

Last updated

This policy explains what we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it. Coast Trade Bookkeeping (ABN 75 494 248 089) is the operator of this site.

What we collect

When you contact us

The enquiry form asks for your name and mobile number, and optionally your email address, what you need help with, how far behind your books are, whether you run payroll, and a message. We use these only to respond to your enquiry and, if you become a client, to provide bookkeeping services.

Submitting the form sends those details to us by email throughResend, our email delivery provider. The form is also protected byCloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you are not an automated bot. Turnstile is designed to make that determination without profiling you or tracking you across sites.

When you browse

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used — which pages people read, how they arrived, roughly where they are, and which links they tap. This is aggregate reporting about the site, not an attempt to identify you personally.

Specifically, we record when a visitor:

  • views a page;
  • taps the phone number or an email address; and
  • successfully submits the enquiry form.

Google Analytics sets cookies on your device and processes your IP address to do this. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses — it uses them only momentarily to derive a rough location — and we have disabled Google Signals and advertising personalisation, so your data is not used to build advertising profiles or shared into Google's advertising products. Google's handling of the data it collects is covered by theGoogle Privacy Policy.

Our web host, Cloudflare, also processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type to serve the site and protect it from abuse.

Cookies, and how to refuse them

The only cookies this site sets are the Google Analytics cookies described above, plus a short-lived Cloudflare token when you complete the anti-spam check on the contact form. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install theGoogle Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site works normally without them.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for marketing. We share it only with the service providers that make the site work — named above — and where we are required to by law. Some of those providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States.

How we hold and protect it

Enquiries reach us as email and are held in our access-controlled business email account. Analytics data is held by Google, and this site's infrastructure is operated by Cloudflare — we rely on those providers' security measures for the data they process, and we protect our own accounts with them. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access.

How long we keep it

Enquiry emails are kept for as long as we may need them to respond to you or to meet our record-keeping obligations as a bookkeeping practice. Analytics data is retained on Google's default schedule for the property — currently 14 months for user-level data.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@coasttradebooks.com.au or call0481 577 565 and we will respond within a reasonable period.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first using the details above — we will look into it and respond to you directly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to theOffice of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the revision date above.
